Alma Brava receives the Prize FADEA in Works in the outside

Alma Brava received the Prize FADEA in the category Act in the outside, a recognition to the architectural and environmental quality of the edifice developed by IXOU in Neighbourhood South, Montevideo.

The project answers to the rule that promotes the revitalisation of this zone of the city. In a terrain in corner, the edifice adopts a compact form leaned on the medianera and releases a lateral yard. This decision generates six open faces, with different orientations, visual and conditions of natural illumination for the houses.

One of his more recognizable shots is the system of parasoles metallic that wraps windows, terraces and balconies. In addition to regulating the incidence of the sun, these elements build a façade of texture cambiante during the day and create intermediate spaces among the interior of the units and the city.

The jury also stood out the attention put in the sustainability. From his conception, Alma Brava incorporated strategies oriented to diminish the usual consumption of electrical energy and the use of water in the common spaces.

The prize reaffirms the value of an able architecture to combine identity, comfort, efficiency and urban regeneration, and recognises the work made to contribute a new residential quality to the Neighbourhood South.
